What is yigo guam temple?

The Yigo Guam Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located in the village of Yigo in Guam, a United States territory in the Pacific Ocean.

The temple was announced on October 2, 2010, and the groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 4, 2019. It is the second temple in Guam, with the first being the Guam Temple, which was dedicated in 2000.

The temple has a total floor area of 16,000 square feet and features a beautiful blue and white exterior, with a gold statue of the angel Moroni at the top of the spire.

The interior of the temple has several rooms, including a baptistry, two ordinance rooms, sealing rooms, and a celestial room. It is designed to serve thousands of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints living in the Micronesia region, which includes not only Guam but also the Northern Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, and Palau.

The Yigo Guam Temple was dedicated on May 31, 2020, by Church President Russell M. Nelson via video conferencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The dedication was attended by a limited number of local Church leaders and members.
